Public IP Addresses

Objective

This document provides instructions on how to set up a Public IP Address in your VoltConsole. For information on Public IPs, see Public IP.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply:

Configuration

Perform the following steps in VoltConsole to set up a Public IP Address:

Public IP Address

Step 1: Log into VoltConsole to request your Public IP Address.

Note: VoltConsole https://console.ves.volterra.io

  • Select System icon, located in upper-left corner under Volterra.
  • Open Manage tab, located in left column.
  • Select Networking, from drop-down menu.
  • Select Public IP Addresses, from pop-up menu.

  • Select Add Public IP button to create Public IP Address.

Note: If you have an existing IP address the Add Public IP button will not be available. Click + Request Public IP, located in the top-left under Public IP Addresses and the contact support window will pop-up.

Step 2: Fill out Contact Support Form to submit Public IP Address request.
  • In Contact Support pop-up window, open Type drop-down menu, select Request.
  • Open Topic drop-down menu, select Public IP (Anycast).
  • Open Priority drop-down menu, select High (issue affects my day-to-day work).
  • Click via Phone icon to contact Volterra support with questions.

Note: Short subject and Tell us your problem boxes pop-up after selecting Priority.

  • Type a Short subject in Please choose a subject for your issue: box.

Note: For example, Public IP Address Request for Bob.

  • Type request in Please explain the problem below: box.

Note: Tell us your problem example Requesting Public IP Address for....

  • Use Add attachments button if needed.

Note: JPG, PNG or text files, no larger than 5 MB for attachments.

  • Click Submit Request button, located in lower-right corner, to request Public IP Address.

  • Call support option available. To resolve any issues, contact Volterra Support via phone 206.272.7969, select option 7.
Step 3: Verify Public IP request is created in VoltConsole.
  • Select question mark ? icon in upper-right corner.
  • Select Track Requests option, in pop-up window to open Requests page.

  • Confirm Subject, Public IP Address Request, and date Created match your request.

Note: A unique ID should be assigned to your request ex. 187659.

Step 4: Confirm request email received.
  • Open email, verify Volterra request email received.

Note: Support staff may have questions in request process.

  • Wait to be assigned Public IP Address by Volterra Support staff.

Note: Wait times vary, allow 24 hours.

Note: Your request confirmation email will be from Zendesk, support@f5volterra.zendesk.com titled [Volterra] Request Received: Public IP Address Request.

Step 5: Verify Public IP Address in VoltConsole.
  • Open Public IP Addresses in Networking, verify IP address is granted and showing under Name and Namespace.

  • To open JSON script, click > for Public IP Address entry to view details in JSON format.
